Spiritual Health - Soul, Mind, Body

As discussed in the “Love Guided Life” section, we are all spiritual beings who have manifested in our physical body and minds, at this time, to achieve a set of “contractual” goals with the Divine. Learn how spiritual health impacts the health of the mind/body while physical health frees your spirit to achieve its Divine goals.

Mind, Body, and Soul Connection

Most people understand the importance of eating healthy to maintain their bodies, while stress has also been proven to manifest both physical and mental ailments. Unfortunately, the connection of the body and mind with the soul is not understood or even thought about by most people.

As a result of some religious teachings, many western cultures have become rooted in the belief that we are separate from the Divine (God), commonly referred to as “Separation theology”. Separation theology instills the belief that we are physical beings consisting of a body and mind with a soul that gets judged by God when we die.

Oneness

Oneness theology, on the other hand, changes this perspective to view each of us as a soul having a physical manifestation at this time. In Oneness, our souls are always in direct contact with the Divine and our soul has slowed its vibrational level to take on a physical body/mind. This concept of Oneness has been taught by many eastern religions.

Oneness theology teaches that the soul takes on the challenge of its physical manifestation to fulfill a “contractual” agreement with the Divine. Basically, the soul, in its physical form, has agreed to experience whatever is necessary to fulfill its Divine contract. We are ALL here for the Divine!

To be able to fulfill its agreement with the Divine, the soul needs to have both a body and mind that are operating at their peak. In turn, the body and mind need a soul that “remembers” its connection to the Divine. As your spiritual journey and practice deepens, it is very common for a person to develop a focused “sense of responsibility” to maintain their body and mind.

What’s a soul to do?

Certainly a healthy diet is necessary to provide the fuel or energy necessary for a person’s body and mind to achieve the soul’s contractual goals. The soul also needs healthy energy as the slowing of its vibrational level to manifest physically is very hard work.

Medical science has long since proven that physical exercise is necessary to build a strong body and to help eliminate toxins that build up throughout our body as we consume energy in our day to day life. Physical exercise is also proven to help alleviate stress, lower blood pressure, refresh our minds, and improve overall health.

Our minds also require “exercise” of a different type. A healthy mind is also fully engaged in creative activities including reading, writing, thinking, and manual tasks. This stimulation helps to keep the neurons in our brain functioning properly. Stress also stimulates the neurons in the brain however severe and long lasting stress will cause “over stimulation” and may lead to unhealthy consequences.

Early in your spiritual path you certainly became knowledgeable and immersed in recognizing and LIVING in Oneness. As you know, Oneness is our state of beingness that acknowledges and honors the connection that we each have to the Divine Spirit (God) and to all things in the Universe. You also know that this connectedness means that “what I do to you, I do to me”.

It is common and expected that as your vibrational levels increase you begin to see and feel the animal and plant world much differently than before. You literally feel the connection to every animal (and plant) with the recognition that we are one in our spiritual lives. Incredible compassion for all living beings emerges and this compassion impacts every aspect of your life. Imagine a world were all is treated with the gentleness and kindness that lives within each of us.

A very common occurrence is that the desire to eat meat makes you feel uneasy, and you begin to feel bad as you eat. You are feeling the low or negative vibration of the suffering of the animal being slaughtered. Becoming a vegetarian is a very typical outcome.
While many spiritual people remain vegetarians, others can literally feel the low vibes generated by the animals who are being abused and killed in the dairy, egg, seafood industry, leather goods industry, etc. These people will typically become vegans. Pure vegans will not eat or wear anything that was taken from a living being.

Important Note: Before deciding to become either a vegetarian or vegan it is very important that you understand your nutritional needs and become informed on eating those foods that meet those needs. There is a common thought that we must eat meat to receive the protein that our bodies require. This is far from the truth as many plant based foods not only provide the necessary protein but are much healthier overall. There are a number of reliable websites (insert URL’s) that are excellent resources to utilize to help make your decision.

Caution: If you are on a medically prescribed diet or have a medical condition it is critical that you discuss any changes you wish to make to your diet with your physician.
